Welcome to Body Stress Release Garden Route situated in Wilderness
Body Stress Release (BSR) is a complementary health technique pioneered by Ewald and Gail Meggersee. The main purpose of Body Stress Release is to release stored tension from the body, thereby activating the process that restores and enhances the body’s natural ability to heal itself.
When the body reaches a point of stress overload and the stress goes beyond the body’s ability to adapt, the stress becomes “locked” into the physical structures which we call “body stress” (click here to view "What is Body Stress?"). This impacts the nervous system and disturbs the body’s lines of communication, thereby undermining efficiency of function. The effect of stored tension or "body stress" may result in these and many other conditions:
- stiffness, with restricted movement and loss of flexibility
- pins and needles
- muscle weakness
- distorted posture
- disturbed function
Back and neck pain maybe caused by "body stress".
In my early 30’s I started experiencing constant lower back pain and I would frequently wake up in the morning and not be able to turn my neck. On those days I also had a blinding headache. After trying many other techniques and painkillers with no long term relief a friend recommended BSR to me. At first I was sceptical in believing it would work because it was so gentle. Over a period of time I was amazed that not only did my lower back and neck improve but I was also able to walk for longer distances without my calves becoming painful. In addition to this my digestion improved and my elbow that had been operated on as a child completely healed with absolutely no more aching and stiffness in winter.
In 2002 I decided to leave my high pressure corporate job of 10 years in the IT industry to study BSR. I opened my practice in Claremont in Cape Town and practiced there for 15 years. I have been enriched by the many wonderful clients I met through my Claremont practice.
In January 2018, I relocated from Cape Town and I have opened a practice situated in Wilderness in the Garden route. I am privileged to be able to practice a technique that has helped so many people improve their health.
This non-therapeutic, complementary health technique has assisted hundreds of people in their path to restored vitality and optimal health. Body Stress Release was founded in South Africa in 1981 and is now practiced in the Africa, Europe, UK, Japan, USA, Australia, and New Zealand.
